Dr. George Coppit, III

Dr. George L. Coppit, III is a board-certified otolaryngologist–head and neck surgeon with extensive experience in complex head and neck procedures, sleep surgery, and advanced airway management.
He completed his Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery residency at Madigan Army Medical Center, followed by advanced fellowship training in Head and Neck Oncology, Microvascular Reconstruction, and Skull Base Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center—providing him with highly specialized expertise in complex surgical cases.
Dr. Coppit served 24 years on active duty in the United States Army, including leadership roles as Chief of Otolaryngology at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. During his military career, he performed a wide range of advanced surgical procedures in both hospital and combat environments, developing a reputation for precision, adaptability, and clinical excellence. He also served as Command Surgeon for U.S. Forces/NATO in Afghanistan and as the White House Consultant for Otolaryngology for more than a decade.
His clinical focus includes sleep surgery and the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea, with more than 15 years of experience performing the Inspire® implant. He also has extensive experience treating sinus disease, thyroid and parathyroid disorders, salivary gland conditions, and head and neck tumors.
Beginning in May 2026, Dr. Coppit joins the other providers at Anne Arundel ENT & Facial Plastic Surgery, where he will provide comprehensive, patient-centered surgical care to individuals in Annapolis and the surrounding communities
