Welcome to Arundel Ambulatory Surgery Center. We are pleased that you have chosen us to provide your health care services.
In advance of your procedure, we are required to provide the following information:
A Maryland law called the Health Care Decisions Act says that you can do health care planning through “advance directives”. An advance directive can be used to name a health care agent. This is someone you trust to make health care decisions for you. An advance directive can also be used to say what your preferences are about treatments that might be used to sustain your life. If you desire more information about advance directives we have the Maryland Advance Directive: Planning For Future Health Care Decisions information available. If you desire to review this material please ask the receptionist for a copy during your admitting process.
Due to the nature of the services we offer, we do not honor Living Wills or Advance Directives; however, we will copy any documents you wish to provide us and place them in your medical record. If your condition requires a transfer to a local hospital, we will include any paperwork regarding your Living Will or Advance Directive with the transfer paperwork. This will provide the receiving healthcare facility information they may need regarding your wishes.
